MATTHEW HAGGETT is established as one of the most notable artists to watch in Portland. His work with encaustic combined with computer-generated imagery is groundbreaking.
Additionally, his previous gallery installation demonstrated his broad range wherein he used simple black vinyl applications directly on the wall to produce powerful, volumetric sphere pieces. As further evidence of this artist’s ability to grow, Haggett has moved away from his signature encaustic works. While the content of layered patterns randomly articulating composition remains, these new paintings are made with acrylic paint. It is marvelous to see how he captures the essence of his work with a very different medium.

JANIS MILTENBERGER
One of the few sculptors currently working in large-scale lamp-worked glass, Janis Miltenberger continues to impress viewers with magnificent technical prowess combined with a playful and sometimes humorous narrative. Quite prominently nature-inspired, the works always possess an edge of mystery. Once can see distinct human psyche working with natural elements to create metaphoric content within each piece.
