This month features two artists: Sculptor REBECCA WELZ from New York and MICHAEL KESSLER of Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Welz creates meticulously well-crafted Plexiglass sculpture in configurations formed from an accumulation of related shapes. Then the piece is scumbled and painted with oil paint to produce a worn/weathered feel.

With MICHAEL KESSLER'S paintings, process meets artist's hand in these geometrically contained experiments dealing with the physics of paint/mediums manipulated in a variety of fashions.

First Thursday reception is May 1, from 6-9 p.m.

		REBECCA WELZ Sculptor Rebecca Welz has recently hit the next level. Her latest works juxtapose the perfect balance of the geometric with the organic. These works exist both three-dimensionsally--constructed from plex, as well as in the form of collage.
		MICHAEL KESSLER Nationally exhibited and recongnized, Kessler's approach to abstraction has become more sophisticated and rich with each new body of work. We are pleased to have added this notable artist to the Butters stable.
