Mar 05, 2003 - Mar 29, 2003
We are excited to present, in his first Butters Gallery solo exhibit, new paintings by San Franciscan HOWARD HERSH. Hersh's seductive, sensual abstractions borrow visual fragments from nature and contain them in mathematical, geometric configurations.
Also this month, we will present the fresh new offerings from OSU faculty member JOHN MAUL. From his small, bronze works have grown these more complex, intricately surfaced pieces. Cast in aluminum, Maul finishes these works with color infused encaustic paint. The combination of Maul's vision and this unique use of encaustic makes for some very inventive sculpture.
Opening reception First Thursday, March 6, from 6-9 p.m.
